Dholera Impresses JBIC Delegation with Rapid Infrastructure Growth

Mr. Hashiyama Shigeto, Executive Managing Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (#JBIC), led a high-level delegation on an insightful visit to Dholera’s Activation Area. The objective was to gain first-hand exposure to the region’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its progress toward becoming a global investment destination.

Dholera Impresses JBIC Delegation

The visit commenced with a tour of the under-construction four-lane expressway that will seamlessly connect Ahmedabad to Dholera. This critical roadway is set to enhance regional connectivity and accelerate economic activity across Gujarat’s industrial corridor.

The delegation then explored key infrastructural landmarks, including the picturesque Canal Front and the advanced Water Treatment Plant. These sites provided an in-depth understanding of Dholera’s robust and sustainable water management systems, designed to support a rapidly growing urban population.

At the ABCD Building, the nerve center of Dholera’s smart city operations, the delegates engaged with the Experience Zone—a dynamic space showcasing a detailed 3D city model, immersive digital exhibits, and interactive displays outlining the scale, vision, and investment potential of the project. They were also briefed at the City Integrated Operations Centre (CIOC), which monitors and manages city services in real-time.

A key highlight of the tour was a visit to the Tata Electronics’ upcoming Semiconductor Fabrication Plant—a landmark project signaling India’s entry into the global semiconductor ecosystem. The delegation noted the rapid pace of construction, underscoring the commitment to high-tech industrial development in the region.

Officials from #DICDL (Dholera Industrial City Development Limited) delivered a comprehensive presentation covering planned social infrastructure projects. These include a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital, a world-class school, a multi-cuisine food court, a modern shopping mall, and an expansive fire station with 11 garages—designed to meet the needs of future residents and businesses.

The JBIC delegation expressed strong satisfaction with the quality, speed, and vision of development at Dholera. They acknowledged its emergence as a strategic hub for next-generation industries, innovation, and sustainable urban living.

This visit further cements the growing global confidence in Dholera as India’s most ambitious smart city project—one that’s well on track to becoming a model of future-ready infrastructure and economic resilience.
