The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) published on May 1, 2025, a notice on the tinkering of toll pricing for these two segments of the highways in Gujarat. These segments will enhance the road connectivity between Bhavnagar and Dholera Special Investment Region, or SIR. The toll policy also encompasses certain stretches of NH 751 (NH-751) and the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway (NE-8). This system is extremely important for both the investors as well as the users because it links major industrial zones and smart cities in Gujarat.

Based on the published notification, the tolling will be enforced on the following portions:

• A 30.727 km stretch of NH-751 from Adhelai village to Nari Junction near Bhavnagar, which runs between design kilometers 136.000 to 169.308.
• A 23.860 km segment of NE-8 or National Expressway 8 – popularly known as Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway – from Dholera interchange (design kilometer 84.709) up to Adhelai Interchange (design kilometer 109.019).

Besides these, the above-mentioned routes will also serve as crucial portions to the infrastructure corridor being planned for the Gujarat region joining Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, and Dholera Smart City.

Where Is the Toll Plaza Located?

The areas of the highway stretch will be managed by the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) for collection of tolls and upkeep. The toll plaza will be placed approximately 3 KM from the Bhadbhid village in the Bhavnagar district. With the initial operations of tolling the vehicles, this plaza will aid in servicing the traffic from Bhavnagar, Adhelai, and Dholera SIR.

How Will These Toll Roads Benefit Bhavnagar-Dholera Travel?

The integration of the new stretches along with the tolls will simplify the travel routes between Bhavnagar and Dholera SIR. The NH-751 section is expected to add direct access from Nari Junction of Bhavnagar all the way to Adhelai, which directly links to the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway (NE-8) going to Dholera SIR. Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway Progress: 95% Work Completed

The last update given by the Chief Minister of Gujarat indicates 95 percent completion of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway. The remaining 23 km from Adhelai to Dholera is also nearing completion and is estimated to become public access very soon. This stretch acts as a key link between SP Ring Road (Ahmedabad) and central Dholera Smart City.
