Tata Electronics Private Limited has taken a significant step in the semiconductor sector by bringing in KC Ang as President and Head of Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Private Limited. He will report to Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and will oversee the company’s AI-driven foundry systems. A Seasoned Leader with a Global Footprint

KC Ang’s extensive career experience in the foundry business industry exceeds three decades, with specific knowledge in thrust areas of fab start-ups, operations, technology transfers, and managing industry relations. His work has exposed him to all major semiconductor centers like Malaysia, Germany, the USA, and China. Prior to his current role, he was instrumental to GlobalFoundries’ growth during his 15-year tenure, serving as President – Asia and Chairman – China, which significantly expanded the company’s footprint.

Driving India’s Semiconductor Ambitions

Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing has recently appointed KC Ang, in the middle of India’s semiconductor industry growth. In conjunction with Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) out of Taiwan, the company is setting up a $10 billion chip foundry in Dholera, Gujarat, as part of the Center’s India Semiconductor Mission. As the leader of Tata’s semiconductor foundry business, KC will focus on achieving operational goals as well as customer satisfaction and engagement.
