The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, met with senior executives of Jabil Inc., Tata Electronics, JETRO, Kaynes Technology, Infineon Technology, CG Semi, and NXP Semiconductors. These meetings were meant to leverage strategic opportunities with semiconductor infrastructure development within Gujarat’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem.

Ms. Marisa Gerards, the Netherlands ambassador to India, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel during her travel to Gujarat for the SemiConnect Conference 2025 at Mahatma Mandir. She spoke of the Netherlands, knowing a lot about semiconductor technology and wanting to form long-lasting relationships with Gujarat. The Ambassador spoke of the prospects of working on advancements and sharing knowledge in the field of technology between Netherlands and Gujarat.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel had on one session with some of the global business leaders who attended that SemiConnect Conference and talked about their investments and infrastructure development in the state.

The Executive Vice President of Jabil Inc.’s Global Business Unit, Mr. Matt Crowley, had a meeting with the Chief Minister regarding the plans to set up manufacturing units in Dholera and Sanand. He appreciated the business-friendly climate and the supportive infrastructure of the state and further added that Jabil Inc. is very eager to invest in the developing semiconductor industry of the state.
Tata Electronics’ Infrastructure Acknowledgment
Shri Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD of Tata Electronics, commended the work done by Gujarat regarding the construction of important infrastructural facilities such as power, water, and gas in Dholera. He urged the state to accelerate the construction of social infrastructure to further support the rapid industrial growth in the region.
JETRO’s Pledge to Further Enhance Relations
Mr. Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman and CEO of JETRO, renewed the commitment of Japan towards Gujarat established during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. He underlined the commitment of JETRO towards supporting the collaboration of Japanese corporates and start-ups with academic institutions. Later on, Mr. Ishiguro extended an invitation for the Chief Minister to join for the Techno Expo in Japan later this year.
Kaynes Technology’s Rapid Project Approval
While appreciating the proactive support of the Gujarat government, Shri Ramesh Kannan, Chairman and Managing Director of Kaynes Technology, mentioned that their Sanand plant was approved within a mere 15 days. He further noted plans for an educational initiative in collaboration with Ganpat University for nurturing specialized talent in the semiconductor industry that was started by Kaynes Technology.
Infineon Technologies’ R&D Focus
Shri Chua and Shri Vinay Shenoy of Infineon Technologies, Asia Pacific, spoke about their plans to set up a research and development hub in Ahmedabad. They emphasized the gains that could arise from the combination of Infineon’s technological prowess and the friendly business environment in Gujarat.
CG Semi’s Gratitude for Timely Support
Shri Chaturvedi and Mr. Jerry Agnes from CG Semi Private Limited thanked the Gujarat government for the prompt availing assistance with their project in Sanand.
NXP Semiconductors’ Diverse Portfolio
Mr. Lars Reger and other representatives of NXP Semiconductors, a Netherlands-based company, informed the Chief Minister about their activities in the fields of automotive and innovation, industrial communication infrastructure, IoT, and mobile technologies. They also pointed out the opportunity for abundant collaboration and expansion in regard to these sectors in Gujarat.
Government’s Strong Support
Dr. Hasmukh Adhia (Hasmukh Adhia Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister), Shri M.K. Das (Additional Chief Secretary), Smt. Mona Khandhar (Principal Secretary of Science and Technology), and Smt. Avantika Singh (Secretary to the Chief Minister) and others, including some of the state’s senior officials who participated in the discussions.
The meetings held accentuated the sophistication of Gujarat as a region of international importance in the semiconductor value chain and demonstrated the readiness of the government of the state to solicit and compete for high-end investments and technology alliances.
